Resin bound and resin bonded driveways and patios will add a touch of class to your property.
Resin bound is a very robust and sturdy paving product, which has a great skid resistance and is ideal for steep sloping driveways, paths and patios but also looks stunning. Resin is mixed with different aggregate types so it can come in any colour combination, from bright white quartz to Chinese bauxite. If you want a truly bespoke resin bound driveway or patio the Trojan resin bound driveway or patio could be the way forward.
Resin bound is also one of the few driveway products that can be applied (overlaid) to a good standing, structurally sound existing driveway or patio, so no excavation or little preparation is needed. The cost of a resin bound driveway or patio can be a fraction of a normal driveway.

All the colour surface hardeners we use at trojan driveways are UVA stable and will not fade, only if the sealant has totally worn away then slowly over time the surface will gradually weather.
Resin bound is when the stone/ aggregate is mixed with the glue/resin and then troweled on in this format. Resin bonded is where the glue/resin is applied by its self over an existing driveway, path or patio then the stone/aggregate is scattered across the surface.
The life of the driveway will depend on how it was laid, what depths of the resin were put down and what surface it was applied to. Resin bound stone laid and installed correctly and laid on a structurally sound base will last 20 years.
Resin bonded is different though and we would only recommend this system for paths patios decking etc not for a driveway. Life expectancy for this paving would be 10 years plus if regularly cleaned.
Yes . As long as the driveway path or patio is in good condition and there is no signs of of movement or surface corrosion. Also the height of your existing paving will play a factor and there will need to be sufficient falls so no pooling of rain water will occur. Please feel free to contact us and we can send a surveyor to discuss the options with you.
A power washer on a wide fan will be sufficient.
No, both resin bound and resin bounded both have great anti skid properties. If not cleaned regularly however, there will be moss and algae build up which can make the driveway slippery.
Not for a resin bound (trowel on) surface the glue covers over all the aggregate. It can come loose for a resin bonded paved area as the aggregate is scattered over the surface similar to pebble dashing and will gradually over time lose the aggregate, depending on how often it is used.
